Au cycle 3, il est d’ores et déjà possible de travailler la lecture compréhension en anglais. En effet, l’apprentissage d’une langue étrangère depuis le CP, a fortiori depuis la maternelle, permet aux élèves de lire et comprendre de courts textes en anglais. Le site Pass-education met plusieurs fiches d’exercice en lecture compréhension anglais pour le CM1. Plusieurs niveaux de difficulté sont disponibles afin que les enseignants puissent différencier pendant les séances.

En cours d’anglais, l’exercice de lecture et de compréhension en anglais dès le CM1 est essentiel pour aider les élèves à se familiariser avec la langue anglaise et à améliorer leur expression écrite et orale. Les ressources proposées en téléchargement, au format PDF, permettent de travailler des thématiques de la vie courante, de la culture anglaise et de l’histoire de l’Angleterre. Sont ainsi abordés, par exemple :

la magie, le cinéma ;
l’achat d’une nouvelle voiture, de vêtements ;
la visite d’une ferme ;
les différentes pièces de la maison ;
la famille ;

Travail de la lecture et de la compréhension en langue anglaise en CM1 : des exercices par niveau de difficulté
Fournie avec sa correction, chaque fiche d’exercice de lecture et de compréhension en anglais pour les élèves de CM1 propose un court texte en anglais, un lexique traduit et des questions de compréhension. Le français est volontairement très peu présent. Les exercices sont classés par niveau de difficulté, du niveau 1 (le plus facile) au niveau 4 (le plus difficile). Les textes proposés peuvent être utilisés avec n’importe quelle méthode de langue, tant en classe qu’à la maison. Ils offrent des ressources variées pour s’assurer que chaque élève progresse à son propre rythme.
